Dear Diary:
How did I get here, you ask? Well...remember when we saw reports of scary, menacing clowns all over the country? We thought they were rumors. Maybe they were at first, but every idiot in every town thought in their idiot brains that it would be funny to dress up as evil clowns and terrorize their neighborhoods. I never thought it would happen in MY town, but I guess my town is not as idiot-free as I thought.
I was walking home from the store right after it closed for the night when a clown jumped in front of me and screamed in my face. Instinctively I swung my purse around and bashed the clown in the face. It crumpled to the ground howling and I ran all the way home. Within half an hour the cops were at my house.
The clown as apparently a 15 year-old kid and his mom, who happens to be a former Landgraab and a pretty influential person on the city council, was pressing charges.
I didn't go to jail but I did get fired from my job and when court time came around said I shouldn't be held responsible for defending myself. I went on a tirade against ALL clowns and how they should all be arrested. Well they should!
Unfortunately I didn't know the judge's grandfather used to volunteer as a clown for the children's hospital.
So I was forced to stay here at the Will Simone House, Sunset Valley's old crappy house-turned old crappy asylum. I have to stay here until I can prove that I'm "fit to rejoin society." Whatever that means.
I have to share a room with three other women! In ONE room! This sucks.
Even worse...there's no supervisor or doctor or anything! It is just me and these seven other people! What the heck!
There's not enough beds for everyone so we have to share. There's no cleaning service or cooks so my parole officer told me I was in charge of all that. According to Jevon, one of the lovely gentlemen living here, the budget cutbacks have been so outrageous that they can't hire ANYONE!
(He also told me he's the next daVinci).
Well I can cook a LITTLE...and I can certainly clean, so I made a deal with the Landgraabs. I'll stay for a while and if I can prove that I can take care of the house and the residents, they'll let me out.
So it looks like I'm stuck here for a while.
I'll write again soon,
~Kate

Random, Real-Life, OATs and Now.
I had a family called "Random" that I didn't keep much track of because it was my "I don't feel like documenting their lives" family. However, I quickly became quite attached to them and when I get attached, I document. That's just the way I am.
Kelsey was my very first Fairy Sim. She taught me everything there was to know about Fairies (I think ~ I'll be the first to say there's probably a lot I still don't know that I don't know). She was also the sole reason I had to learn the "unstuck/reset Sim" command. This girl got stuck in EVERYTHING, but her favorite thing to get stuck in was walls. She got stuck four separate times that I remember....and it was probably more than that. She had to give up the "help investigate Sim" opportunity because it is still bugged.
Larissa was a workaholic that literally did nothing but work. The only non-work related thing she ever did was use the time machine when I installed "Generations" and went back in time. Then she came back to the present WITH A KID!!! I didn't know what to do! You can't get rid of the kid...it's supposedly hers!! So we welcomed "Juan" into the family. Larissa was too busy to do much with him, but Kelsey helped him out and made him a bedroom and stuff.
Kelsey's private eye career was just starting to take off when I had to say good-bye. These were the two most attractive lady Sims I have ever created, ever.

I made a family where the husband looked just like my real-life husband and the wife looked just like my real-life self. I created the house we currently live in and made my oldest stepdaughter's room exactly as it is now. Then I had my real-life-emulating sims start having babies and they had one girl and one boy just like us in real life so they got our real-live kid's names. It was very amusing to me, but now we must say good-bye.

When I installed "Dragon Valley" I created a couple of randoms to live there. Their names were Tariel and Claude (randomly generated). They didn't get along right from the start. I had my suspicions that Claude might actually have been gay ~ which would have been fine, but he never got to explore any relationships.
I got them two dragon eggs. The first was a red dragon I named "One" because it was my first dragon. It liked to blow flame and fly around and do tricks. I gave him to Tariel. The second dragon was purple and we named it "Beauty." Beauty loved Claude more than anything. She made him the "life of the party" several times and they would chat about Charisma.
Claude literally JUST applied to be self-employed as a sculptor when I had to say goodbye. (They didn't have to get jobs until they ran out of the motherlode of money I gave them at the beginning LOL)

Honorable Mention: I have always, since the very first Sims game came out, had a family called OATs. It stood for "One Atta Time" where I was buy every single thing ever that was available to buy and mess with it. These families never had a storyline and I've never been able to buy absolutely everything because by the time I got most of the stuff I'd install a new expansion pack, lol. It's just a fun thing I do out of sheer boredom when I don't want to actively watch over the lives of the sims.
This time I envisioned a bunch of rich kids that got together and had an apartment complex built. They all lived there off their parent's money but wanted to learn what they were going to do with the rest of their lives. I moved in SEVEN young adults, two humans, a ghost, a vampire, a witch, a werewolf, and a fairy. I let them do literally whatever they wanted. I only instructed them to pay bills every once and a while and work on skills. Oh, and one time I invited everyone out to the beach to have a party in an empty cabin (which some didn't live for DAYS afterwards).
The most memorable thing that happened, however, was the witch set fire to the carpet. The fire alarm automatically called the fire department, but the witch put the fire out with his "ice blast" spell. When the firesims came over and saw no fire, they yelled at my sims and charged them $500 for a false call!!! It made me LOL.

Honorable Mention:
I was mad at my husband one day and created myself if I randomly left him (much more fun in the game then in real life, right? LOL!) I mostly had her work out and paint and play computer games and read, all the stuff I'd rather do than what I actually do most days. She went to Egypt (which is one of the places I would love to go) and explored a pyramid. She ran into a mummy and got the mummy's curse. I tried to do the quest to cure myself but I got sent home before I could finish! In the passage of time my real-life newly single sim went slowly crazy and finally one night, at the stroke of midnight, died suddenly.
It taught me that every good thing comes with a price, and leaving my husband isn't worth my life!! LMAO
Naw I really love that guy I married, but he got a kick out of how "I" died also.

The Red Family
One of my first families when I first installed Sims was a family I modeled after my middle son. I named him Zander ~ a nickname I call my son, and I gave him a quirky wife that looked a little like his girlfriend at the time, and I named her Emily. Emily was SO quirky that when she was attacked by zombies (after I installed Supernatural) she just laughed at them and exclaimed over how cute they were. She was an artistic Sim that couldn't decide what medium to become a master in, so she did them all. Scultping, Inventing, Painting....she did everything. Zander became a five-star chef and was sent all around the world to learn different recipes.
Zander and Emily had their first son and named him after my oldest son's (stepson) nickname. They called him Tank. Tank was born smack dab in the middle of fall (Seasons). Their second son they named Edward and he was born in the middle of a tornado.
On one of their trips to France, Zander thought he'd be romantic and start a fire in the fireplace. For some reason the fire blew out of control and nearly burned down their hotel, and out of sheer embarrassment Zander bought plane tickets and they went home early.
They came home to find their baby alone, on the ground outside in the rain!! They were very angry with the babysitter, but he still got his money.
One Easter their oldest, Tank, had to search for eggs in the rain.
When Emily got pregnant again she was REALLY hoping, after two boys, to have a little girl. When she went through her "nesting" period she added another floor to her house with a new bedroom just for the boys and bought them a bunk bed and put another bathroom up there.
When it was time for the baby to come, she got another boy. She thought, "I cannot GET a baby girl!!" but she was very happy with the new baby and she named him Howard. He was born on a rainy first day of summer.
They went to Egypt but again came home early because they missed their boys and they had severe trust issues with the babysitters after what happened to Edward.
The last time they travelled, they ran into a mummy, and the mummy was flat-out hitting on Zander. Emily thought it was HILLARIOUS but it made Zander so sick to his stomach he ran out of the tomb and puked.
I guess Emily will never get her baby girl because alas, it is time to say good-bye. We had fond, FOND memories of the Red family, but they are one that I will not recreate, because it's a little weird to model a life after one of your kids when they are themselves nearing adulthood in Real Life.
Bye Zander & Emily!! <3

Goodbye to King and Who families
Beverly King was going to be my Legacy Challenge Sim. All Sims born into the family would have names of famous Stephen King characters. Unfortunately due to a bad save, Beverly didn't get much out of life before she was terminated (such is the life of some Stephen King characters, I guess). She lived long enough to have a love interest in a man named Christopher Steele, get engaged and get a promotion. Her last known words were "The tavern is fun."
Goodbye Beverly King. I miss your red hair.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
My Who family was all planned out. I would start with my Founder (named Doctor, of course) and his first house was modeled after the first T.A.R.D.I.S. I looked up all the names of the Doctor's companions and all Sims born into the family would bear their names. After each new generation was born I would redecorate the house to look like the next generation T.A.R.D.I.S. I got to play with Doctor Who quite a bit, and there are some memorable memes (that you can find on AmeYACe's Sims twitter feed). I don't think I laughed more than I did with the Doctor and his antics.
He often traveled to the future and helped out with things there. He never got to travel to the past with me, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, since sometimes Sims would come back from the past with a kid!!!). He fell head over heals in love with a local named Lorraine. He proposed to her in a scenic park on the night of the first snow of winter. They married during a snowstorm at the place of their first date during the full moon. He held jobs both in the future and in the present.
I will miss him too much. I may attempt to recreate this wonderful Sim when I get my computer back and Sims reinstalled.
See you around Doctor Who.

A Time-Out to say Goodbye: the BiKnight family
We will soon return to your previously scheduled Apocalypse Challenge/aka "Walker" blog, but I had to delete my computer and I have to say goodbye to some of my Sim families. I love them all, but I'll freely admit I had too many.
Today we will be saying goodbye to the BiKnight family.
Nivene started it all by moving onto a property all by herself and building her house literally from nothing. She got a job in the music career and ended up meeting and marrying Dwayne, who was in Politics. Dwayne ended up leaving a family to be with Niv, and he brought a dog named Roofus into the relationship also. Dwayne and Niv eventually brought their first child, a daughter named Pantech into the world. This was about the time that Niv realized Dwayne was actually a werewolf, and once a month he became very interesting (he was quite boring the rest of the time). Dwayne ended up doing most of Pantech's care, since Niv actually didn't like children very much.
Soon after getting a brother, Warp, Pantech realized she was only happy when she was digging holes or tearing up furniture, and Dwayne admitted she was probably a werewolf, too.
Dwayne got fired after his boss found out he had been stealing from the political funds. Pantech was a teenager then, and making lots of new werewolf friends.
Suddenly Niv found out she was pregnant again. She brought Chain, a son, into the world. Dwayne got his job back and he promised to be more honest and responsible this time around.
Niv soon thought about retiring from the music career and concentrating on her own unrealized passion: Horses. She soon bought an old mare named DeeDee and began training her to race and jump.
The little family had a really long, really cold, and REALLY snowy winter. It snowed for fifteen (Sim) days STRAIGHT! Pantech began breaking curfew and once was even brought home by the cops for being out after hours.
Just when the long, long, LONG winter reluctantly turned to spring, Dwayne died of old age. The entire family was wrecked after this sad loss, even the hourse DeeDee took it hard. They decided to bury him on their home lot.
Nivene BiKnight was just thinking about putting Pantech in charge of the household so she could devote her entire life to her horses, when my computer died and I had to say goodbye to this lovely and interesting family.
Thank you for your time today.
(I don't even have photos I can share cuz of the computer being gone!!!)

Generation 1: Sophia Walker (Intro)
When I left for college, nothing was wrong. I mean, there was the usual idle gossip and ridiculous conspiracies, people hating each other for no reason, things like that.....but nothing was really wrong. Not around here, at least. I guess you could only know that after the fact, when living is a struggle. When nothing is really wrong you start noticing a lot of little "nothings" that you feel are wrong...but then something happens and you realize life was absolutely perfect before. Now everything is wrong, and it makes you appreciate every single little "right" thing that happens.
My name is Sophia Walker, and I went to college to become a writer. I first heard the news while I was working at my part-time job in the school's library. Sometimes after closing, I was allowed to turn on the radio while I cleaned up and put books away. The only thing I remember for certain was the radio saying the nuclear power plant near my home town went critical and was spilling toxic nastiness into the water system faster than anyone could stop it.
The sludge went quickly from the lake to the rivers to just about everywhere. All the plant life for hundreds of miles died instantly, and all the wild animal life quickly followed. All forms of government quickly collapsed and martial law was implemented.
Sometime after army guys started running around the streets carrying loaded weapons I knew I had to somehow get back to my hometown. I packed a few essentials and took the quickest way I could find to get home. There wasn't a lot of people in a hurry to get CLOSER to the disaster, but after a few days of hitch-hiking I was able to find a bike. I didn't loot it, I found it near a bridge. I can only hope the person who was using it before me got a ride with an actual car, and didn't use the bridge to escape our new reality.
It took two weeks to get home using the bike, and the landscape just kept getting worse and worse, and the vehicles that passed me by, sometimes stopping to offer me a ride, sometimes even giving me some food and bottled water when I politely declined, were fewer and farther between.
Finally I came across the half-busted sign that said "Appaloosa Plains/next right." I peddled into town and looked down into the valley. I was home, but everything was changed. I crossed over the river and saw it was a greenish-tinged black slop, that looked almost slimy rather than wet. I knew there couldn't possibly be anything living in that. I cannot describe to you the stench. The dead plants were gone. I wondered if the people who were left burned them; maybe to get rid of the smell that still managed to linger. All I could see was dirt that was a sandy scorched-looking brown.
I tried to bike into town but a group of armed guards stopped me. When I explained my situation they informed me that it was highly unlikely my parents had survived the initial nuclear meltdown. I was urged to turn around and leave but when I told them I did not have enough supplies to go back and I hadn't seen a moving car in three days, they told me I could stay if I wished, but they warned me that things were not what they once were. There were new rules in place, most of them for my own safety.
I insisted that I needed to stay and told them where I lived. They took me to an army jeep and loaded my bike in the back. I climbed into the back of the jeep and three of the guards gave me a ride through the town. My heart sank as I looked around. Everything was either torn down completely, or burned up husks. I felt sad because I couldn't find one single thing that confirmed in my mind that this was my home, this was where I grew up, this place was what made me who I am today. I also felt like I failed my parents since I was away when it happened.
We drove past what used to be my home, but the nasty river had taken back that area. Most of what used to be my parent's property was washed away, leaving rank cesspools of the black shiny liquid. Even the tree that I carved my name into when I was 12 was gone.
My three-armed-men escort said they knew of a "safer" place where some people were staying in fall-out shelters. They said they even knew there was a shelter already built but was currently unoccupied. I asked if the tenant would be back soon and they glanced at each other and said they were pretty sure I could just have it and anything still in it.
One the ride over they quickly explained all the rules to me. I could only go to specified places that I would be allowed to sign up to go to. If I decided the shelter in question was good enough for me, that's where I stayed. Forever. I didn't get to move. I would be assigned a job as soon as a crew could get to me and ascertain what I'd be good for. I would get a military escort to that job every day. Other than that I could not go anywhere, not even to my neighbor's lots. I was not allowed to build on what was already there except by written consent of the acting mayor due to lack of materials that weren't degraded beyond usability.
I would get a weekly stipend of food rations, water rations, and paper to write to family outside the city. I didn't tell them I didn't have any other family. I wanted to keep the paper ration to write what you're reading right now. Writing is pretty much all I've been good for my entire life...I might as well use that to my advantage. Someone should document what's been going on here. Who knows? Maybe these dirty papers will be worth something to someone someday.
There was no garbage pickup, and they told me to be careful to remember that. I could never have more than three items on my person at any one time, excluding the walkie-talkie set they would give me when I got a job, which would be the only way to communicate with my boss and coworkers, not to mention anyone else.
There was a strictly enforced curfew for everyone. They said there were dangers at night. Not even the military went out after dark during a full moon, they said. When I asked why, they implied there were monsters about.
They said there were reports that the radiation was weakening people's muscles and bones, and there was no longer a hospital. The elderly seemed affected more than other people. I was told they go a little crazy, and more than one has wandered off into the desert-like wasteland surrounding the city and never returned. There were no large groups allowed anywhere, not even on my home lot.
There was not enough uncontaminated water for people to bathe. You were allowed one sink and you had to make do with the trickle that came out of it. The toilets would run normally, but it's the river water running through it. The security people I was with warned me to never drink it, or even use it to clean. There were no medicines, any and all drugs that were available in stores have long since been looted. Nothing will grow in the irradiated dirt.
There is no electricity, no helpful gadgets will work anymore....everything is just....gone.
They said we were almost there. We passed by what I instantly knew was the park. Happy memories started flashing in my mind. Looking at what was left was like a scene from a disaster movie. It barely seemed real. All that was left of the play equipment was the swing set with the empty swings swaying sadly in the grit-filled wind. I saw the wreck of the stone bench I used to sit on to wait for my dad to pick me up after school.
Tears threatened for a moment as I mourned all things past that could never be again, and then a small seed of resolve solidified in my stomach.
We were going to recover somehow. Everything will be as it once was again, if I have to work the rest of my life to make it that way.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!
I am seriously thinking about starting a Sims 3 Apocalypse Challenge.
I haven't decided if I'm going to document it via videos (in which case it will be posted to my "Lame Gaming" YouTube channel)
or if I'll write up the story and post it here.
I've been reading the rules for THREE DAYS so far!! There's a LOT of rules!!!
Also, just in case you didn't know, I have a Sims Twitter & if you care Here's the Link
The apocalypse challenge looks REALLY hard and I'm excited to see just how long I can make it (I'll laugh my butt off if I die before lifting ANY restrictions!!).
Thinking of storylines has even kept me up at night!! I love being creative....but actually DOING the work... we'll see.
