I had a family called "Random" that I didn't keep much track of because it was my "I don't feel like documenting their lives" family. However, I quickly became quite attached to them and when I get attached, I document. That's just the way I am.
Kelsey was my very first Fairy Sim. She taught me everything there was to know about Fairies (I think ~ I'll be the first to say there's probably a lot I still don't know that I don't know). She was also the sole reason I had to learn the "unstuck/reset Sim" command. This girl got stuck in EVERYTHING, but her favorite thing to get stuck in was walls. She got stuck four separate times that I remember....and it was probably more than that. She had to give up the "help investigate Sim" opportunity because it is still bugged.
Larissa was a workaholic that literally did nothing but work. The only non-work related thing she ever did was use the time machine when I installed "Generations" and went back in time. Then she came back to the present WITH A KID!!! I didn't know what to do! You can't get rid of the kid...it's supposedly hers!! So we welcomed "Juan" into the family. Larissa was too busy to do much with him, but Kelsey helped him out and made him a bedroom and stuff.
Kelsey's private eye career was just starting to take off when I had to say good-bye. These were the two most attractive lady Sims I have ever created, ever.

I made a family where the husband looked just like my real-life husband and the wife looked just like my real-life self. I created the house we currently live in and made my oldest stepdaughter's room exactly as it is now. Then I had my real-life-emulating sims start having babies and they had one girl and one boy just like us in real life so they got our real-live kid's names. It was very amusing to me, but now we must say good-bye.

When I installed "Dragon Valley" I created a couple of randoms to live there. Their names were Tariel and Claude (randomly generated). They didn't get along right from the start. I had my suspicions that Claude might actually have been gay ~ which would have been fine, but he never got to explore any relationships.
I got them two dragon eggs. The first was a red dragon I named "One" because it was my first dragon. It liked to blow flame and fly around and do tricks. I gave him to Tariel. The second dragon was purple and we named it "Beauty." Beauty loved Claude more than anything. She made him the "life of the party" several times and they would chat about Charisma.
Claude literally JUST applied to be self-employed as a sculptor when I had to say goodbye. (They didn't have to get jobs until they ran out of the motherlode of money I gave them at the beginning LOL)

Honorable Mention: I have always, since the very first Sims game came out, had a family called OATs. It stood for "One Atta Time" where I was buy every single thing ever that was available to buy and mess with it. These families never had a storyline and I've never been able to buy absolutely everything because by the time I got most of the stuff I'd install a new expansion pack, lol. It's just a fun thing I do out of sheer boredom when I don't want to actively watch over the lives of the sims.
This time I envisioned a bunch of rich kids that got together and had an apartment complex built. They all lived there off their parent's money but wanted to learn what they were going to do with the rest of their lives. I moved in SEVEN young adults, two humans, a ghost, a vampire, a witch, a werewolf, and a fairy. I let them do literally whatever they wanted. I only instructed them to pay bills every once and a while and work on skills. Oh, and one time I invited everyone out to the beach to have a party in an empty cabin (which some didn't live for DAYS afterwards).
The most memorable thing that happened, however, was the witch set fire to the carpet. The fire alarm automatically called the fire department, but the witch put the fire out with his "ice blast" spell. When the firesims came over and saw no fire, they yelled at my sims and charged them $500 for a false call!!! It made me LOL.

Honorable Mention:
I was mad at my husband one day and created myself if I randomly left him (much more fun in the game then in real life, right? LOL!) I mostly had her work out and paint and play computer games and read, all the stuff I'd rather do than what I actually do most days. She went to Egypt (which is one of the places I would love to go) and explored a pyramid. She ran into a mummy and got the mummy's curse. I tried to do the quest to cure myself but I got sent home before I could finish! In the passage of time my real-life newly single sim went slowly crazy and finally one night, at the stroke of midnight, died suddenly.
It taught me that every good thing comes with a price, and leaving my husband isn't worth my life!! LMAO
Naw I really love that guy I married, but he got a kick out of how "I" died also.
